Fantasy Island’s The Guardian Ride Announced For 2021

The Guardian Fantasy Island Skegness

Announced today Fantasy Island’s The Guardian Ride is yet another addition to the parks 2021 line-up!

After announcing the incredible arrival of The Spinning Racer to Fantasy Island only last month today the park announced yet another addition.

It all started on the morning of March 19th when the park posted yet another teaser after stating the ride would be announced at 9:30 am.

The ride was NOT announced at 9:30am and left Sean tired as he had only gone to sleep five hours prior and was hoping for a bit more context than just another teaser.

All of the teasers so far have been dragon themed so to see another dragon on screen was like, right, we get it. For the third time. It’s dragon themed.

But what the hell is it?!

The teaser of the post read as follows.

I’ve added notes to suggest what it could potentially be.

Be totally immersed in a world where every turn decides your fate..(turn would indicate movement which points at a 4D dark ride or a VR ride potentially)

Get ready for an EXHILARATING quest! (Standard dark rides are not particular exhilarating so this would assume a more immersive experience with effects or the immersion that VR brings)

Be totally immersed in a world where every turn decides your fate (Reconfirming the above)

Our latest attraction will require courageous knights from across the realm to take on the growing darkness.(Darkness, dark ride?)

Will you be able to survive the blazing adventure that awaits…? (heat effects or a simple reference to our dinosaur story that the ride revolves around)

The kingdom depends on YOU!

Experience The Guardian, coming to Fantasy Island soon!

Stay tuned for more!

As this post was being updated along with the announcements being released I had a good 30 minutes of thinking I was onto something regarding an indoor 4D dark ride coaster before Fantasy Island shared their next teaser on social media which confused me.

Fantasy Island The Guardian

Those restraints and that seating layout certainly look more flat ride than dark ride.

For a second there it looked like a flying theatre.

We all know that Mellors now own Bling which used to be the Star Flyer operating at Blackpool Pleasure Beach but Bling has 5 seats going across and not 4 as shown on the sneak peek.

I also can’t see how they’d operate a Star Flyer indoors.

Maybe that’s why there are only 4 seats as one ripped off operating it indoors…

As the day drew to a close fans were none the wiser as the mystery and intrigue has been left open to fan interpretation.

I’ll stick with the theory of this being an interactive ride of sorts, a flying theatre, a VR flat ride, a Robo arm with VR or screen integration or similar.

Watch this space!
