The London Resort 2025 Opening Date Revealed

London Resort 2025

Delay after delay, hurdle after hurdle as The London Resort 2025 looks to be happening, maybe.

In what is set to be the biggest theme park in the UK the £2.5 billion project has had everything thrown at it but yet they still continue to push forward with their plans.

From protests to small spiders marking the land as a site of interest there has been delay after delay with this project.

Originally marked for a 2024 opening date The London Resort shared a new image on Twitter of an enormous castle with turrets along with a fire breathing dragon.

Very reminiscent of something you’d see at Universal Studios this huge castle was perched next to what looks to be a hybrid / wooden coaster. Potentially the UK’s first RMC if you go by some of the concept art but not confirmed.

What is confirmed is The London Resorts determination to make this project happen and from the looks of the concept art thus far theming is of the upmost importance.

Theme Park theming in this country is pretty shoddy let’s be honest with only Chessington World of Adventures and Paultons Park having something even close to what you’d call themed areas.

Every other park in this country is a shambles, Thorpe Park especially for me sacrifices park theming, there’s just nothing there to immerse yourself in except for when you hit the entrance of a select few rides.

Dark rides is another area in the UK that absolutely needs to be focused on as we just don’t have good themed dark rides like other countries have.

Mix theming with brand new indoor dark rides and The London Resort will be onto a winner that not even a new UK’s tallest coaster could compete with.

If The London Resort goes ahead I just can’t see Thorpe Park being able to keep up with this absolute mammoth project and over a decade of laziness from them (in my personal opinion) will come to bite them.

So, after the pandemic delay and the site’s SSSI status it seems as though ground-work is due to commence sometime this year all things permitting and I’m one excited individual!
