Midgårdsormen

Djurs Sommerland has announced Midgårdsormen, Northern Europe’s first Hot Racer Coaster in 2027 which will be the tallest and fastest of its kind in Europe.

Midgårdsormen will cost a whopping 14 million euros. It’ll be the first coaster in the park to feature inversions and it will be themed around the Midgard Serpent from Norse mythology and will be located in Vikingeland which will be expanded by 15,000 m² as part of a broader development of the park.

The expansion of the area will also include new dining options, a large playground and additional retail facilities.

With a top speed of 75 km/h, two launches and three inversions, the new ride combines a unique layout with a highly dynamic ride experience.

This is a huge step forward for the Danish park as CEO Henrik B. Nielsen explains:

“This is an important step in the continued development of Djurs Sommerland. For the first time, we are introducing inversions while continuing to focus on experiences that appeal to a broad audience.

Our ambition is to continue developing the park with high-quality attractions and experiences that enhance

the overall guest experience,”

This will mark the park’s 10th roller coaster and developed in collaboration with Intamin and will feature a 603-metre layout designed with a more family thrill angle.

With a minimum height requirement of 120cm Midgårdsormen is certainly one coaster to look out for in 2027!
