Merlin Entertainments Covid-19 protection document has been released today.
The document announces upcoming safetly measures to allow parks and attractions to reopen in accordance with government guidelines.
Prior to the announcement we made from Alton Towers yesterday Merlin Entertainments have released a 9 page document of steps that are being implemented when attractions are allowed to reopen.
Such measures mentioned are online bookings only, face masks, empty rows and empty seats between guests on rides area.
Pretty straightforward common sense ideas but its nice to see them all in one place.
Entertainment such as live shows or theatrical shows will require audiences and performers to be separated.
Personal protective equipment, deep cleaning and hygiene stations around the parks and attractions will also be brought in.
All Merlin staff will be trained on how to stay safe and how to keep guests safe.
This is the first positive news we’ve had in a while. All of these recent announcements all point to things getting somewhat back to normal during 2020.
It’ll certainly be a strange experience when we do go back to the parks. We can imagine such things as longer wait times and slower dispatches to be the normal for the foreseeable.
But at least the parks and attractions are actively seeking solutions towards opening this year.
Part of Merlin Entertainments Covid-19 Statement Said:
At Merlin Entertainments our mission is to create truly memorable experiences and we place the utmost importance on the safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees. We have introduced a range of new health and safety measures that seek to reduce the risk associated with the presence of COVID-19 that are in line with government advice and the requirements of local health authorities.
Some of the measures set out below may be clearly visible to you from the moment you arrive at one of our attractions and others require consideration from guests to help ensure everyone has a magical visit.
Take a look at the full 9-page document below.
It’s also great to see Summer 2020 written on there giving us a clear timeframe in which Merlin would like their attractions and parks to be open by.
