A NEW Thorpe Park Hotel is in the Works!

Plans today have been unveiled by Bear Architects which outlines a design proposal for a brand new Thorpe Park hotel facing the theme park as designs and further information has been unveiled.

This new hotel titled ‘Lakeside Thorpe Park” on the design proposals will consist of 100 rooms and has a very contemporary design which is in stark contrast to the Thorpe Park Shark Cabins which are very rugged and rough around the edges in their aesthetic.

Very unusual in its design it looks very much like your standard city centre hotel with a hint of ‘Gloucester Service Station’ thrown in for good measure but these are early design concepts and it’ll be interesting to see how the design moulds to Thorpe’s new branding and how it’ll incorporate the theme park into the hotel interior.

If the outside of the hotel is anything to go by it very much looks like standard accommodation but once again, these are very early design proposals and things could change at any given moment.

Neptune Beach Thorpe Park Stage

In other news Project Pivot is coming to Thorpe Park as the Neptune Beach area located next to Depth Charge will be turned into a permanent stage.

Hints towards the beach turning into something new was hinted at within the new Dead Beat scare maze with THE LAST BEACH PARTY slapped on one of the concert posters before the maze began.

Plans have been submitted to Runnymede Council as Thorpe Park looks to expand on its already impressive entertainment offering but having a stage so close to the entrance is certainly a strange choice for me especially with it being permanent.

It says on the website that hotel construction is anticipated to commence late 2024 but this has not been confirmed nor has work taken place on-site at this moment in time. We’ll be sure to post more updates as and when we receive them!

I’m really happy that Thorpe Park is getting much more solid accommodation as more investment is certainly coming in thick and fast from Merlin to both Thorpe and Chessington as they go from strength to strength with two very exciting futures ahead for these London-based parks.
