Alton Towers Dungeon ReOpening To The Public July 18th

Alton Towers Dungeon ReOpening

Alton Towers Dungeon ReOpening July 18th confirms the park with new restrictions in place.

Today a statement was released announcing the reopening of the indoor attraction.

At the Alton Towers Dungeon, we are horribly excited to whisk traitors back to see, hear and (ahem!) smell Staffordshire’s perilous past from Saturday 18th July, and we’re confident we can do so in the safest way possible.

We have fully reviewed the experience, making changes to the way our Dungeon dwelling storytellers interact with visitors. We’ve put in place a wide range of new safety measures that adhere to our Local Health Authority and Government guidelines, ensuring every peasant (ok…guest) can have a truly great experience – all whilst observing social distancing guidelines. These include:

Pre-book your tickets

There is reduced daily ticket capacity at the Alton Towers Dungeon to allow for (anti) social distancing throughout. Tickets should be purchased through our website or the Alton Towers Resort App for contactless entry. Premium Season Passholders will be able to book on the day

Social Distancing

New techniques and guest interactions to delight and repulse in equal measure, all from a respectable 2 metre distance (you really don’t want to get any closer to Molly Leigh!).

Face Masks

All visitors must bring and wear a suitable facemask throughout their time in the Dungeon – or else we’ll send you to the Torturer! – Dungeon storytellers will wear new historically themed Dungeon face coverings (sadly even this won’t disguise the Plague Doctor’s stench).

Signage

New routes and signage throughout for visitors to follow as they wander down winding, rat infested alleyways… you wouldn’t want to get lost in the bowls of the Dungeon, now, would you?

Enhanced Cleaning

Enhanced Cleaning, Hygiene Stations and Hand Sanitiser at key locations for grubby traitors to use throughout”

Whilst i’m glad the Dungeon attractions are all opening one by one the Alton Towers one is full of narrow (almost pitch black corridors) not to mention small confined spaces where scenes will be held.

I’m very interested to see just exactly how social distancing will be enforced.

No information has been released about the river ride either, with other Dungeon attractions not opening their indoor river rides or drop towers I’m inclined to suggest that Alton Towers may be the same.

With such a narrow indoor attraction reopening it also does beg the question of scare mazes this Halloween.

Could we be seeing some familiar mazes with the new measures in place?
