Originally Alton Towers Festive Days Out was going to be a much smaller scale affair this year but the park believes they can offer more than originally planned in-line with current government guidance.
Over this past weekend you may have noticed a little jump in the price of the upcoming Alton Towers Festive Days Out and thought something fishy was afoot.
Well Alton Towers have completely updated their website today to bring guests a much more in-depth and festive event than originally planned.
The press release said:
We’re really excited to be offering guests the chance to come and enjoy a fun-packed day at the Towers that we think will be one of the few places families can go to enjoy a proper Christmas event, even in the midst of a pandemic.
The good news is that as we’ve studied the detailed Government guidance over the weekend, we believe we can now offer more for guests than we initially thought.
So what’s on offer is a fabulous day out, but with very limited numbers to ensure that all families get a tip top experience.

A Festive Day Out will include:
- A range of outdoor family rides focussing on CBeebies Land and Mutiny Bay, plus Spinball and Cuckoo Cars
- A full length (45 minute) panto performance of ‘Robin Hood’ on the outdoor stage in Fountain Square
- Between shows, there’ll also be a full set of seasonal music from ‘The Sheriff of Nottingham’s Musical Players’
- There’ll also be roving carol singers and Elves for added atmosphere throughout the afternoon
- The Garden Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars will build on the success of the Scarefest gardens experience
- And we’re including the Festive Lantern Trail, which was originally only available for hotel guests, so 2 illuminated garden attractions
- We are also including a free visit to see Santa in his Grotto (which we can now offer inside in a covid-safe way) including a gift for each child

The full list of rides that are set to be open for the Christmas event are:
CBeebies Land:
- Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride
- In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride
- Bugbee Go Round
- Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure
- Postman Pat Parcel Post
- Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop
- Tree Fu Tom Training Camp
- Big Fun Show Time
Other areas:
- Heave Ho
- Marauder’s Mayhem
- Cuckoo Cars Driving School
- Spinball Whizzer
- Christmas Characters appearances
A select number of food stalls will be open also but Alton Towers stress that no indoor venues will be open throughout the festive period so please do wrap up warm!
Takeaway refreshments will be available at the following outlets. Please note that payment will be by CARD ONLY.
- Corner Coffee
- Towers St Donuts and Hots Dogs
- Eastern Express
- Little Explorers Lunchbox in CBeebies Land
- Seasonal concessions in Fountain Square
The new pricing for the event is as follows:
Adults £24
Children £15
Passholders £12.50
The park realised that despite a much smaller capacity they still want to put on an event on a true Alton Towers scale.
They stress that they are not wanting to encourage anyone to travel unnecessarily and that this event should be strictly for those who live within the local area to book tickets.
