Blackpool’s 2026 Journey to Hell Event Gets a Shake Up

Journey to Hell 2026

So Blackpool’s 2026 Journey to Hell event is set to be completely changed from previous years as for the first time ever a new format will be introduced to make the Halloween spectacular a full day and night time experience in 2026.

Journey to Hell will no longer require a separate evening admission ticket. Instead, visitors can purchase a regular park eTicket and enjoy 12 hours of thrills, chills and entertainment as the park opens from 10am right through to 10pm.

Scare Mazes across the park will now be optional and from morning until early evening the park will provide daytime thrills including family-friendly Halloween fun and a brand new family scare maze but from 6pm onwards the South Park area of Pleasure Beach will close and the park will truly come alive at night.

I must say that every Journey To Hell event we’ve done the atmosphere at night is incredible and with them opening not only until late in the evening but keeping rides such as Aviktas, Launch Pad, ICON, Big Dipper, Infusion, Derby Racer, Alice in Wonderland and Ghost Train open the crowds certainly won’t dwindle during the evening.

There will be live entertainment across the park which was incredible at last years event along with a live DJ and roaming actors.

The pricing for the new restructured event are as follows:

Full Day Journey to Hell eTicket + all Scare Mazes (10am until 10pm): From £57.00
Nighttime-only Journey to Hell eTicket (from 6pm) + all Scare Mazes: From £50.00
Full day Journey to Hell eTicket – no Scare Mazes (10am until 10pm): From £32.00

Guests who purchase the full day eTicket without Scare Mazes can buy individual maze tickets on the day if they choose to, although the ‘Full Day Journey to Hell eTicket + all Scare Mazes’ represents the best value as you’d essentially be paying £27 for your entry ticket and £30 for the mazes which is crazy value for entry.

But.

If we take a look at the prices for the individual mazes here’s where I have a little issue.

One scare maze: £15.00
Two scare mazes: £25.00
Three scare mazes: £30.00
Family scare maze: £5.00

Yup, you read that correctly. For one maze it’s £15

This pricing is even more expensive than mazes at Alton Towers and Thorpe Park which are better in every way shape and form than the ‘mazes’ (I use this term lightly) that Pleasure Beach offer.

Every year we absolutely love the atmosphere of the park in the evening and this will draw people in and it’s great they now have the option to avoid the mazes because even now they’re some of the weakest mazes in the country.

They’re not traditional scare mazes they’re walkthrough, stand around, watch an actor deliver some dialogue and on you go types of experiences.

Rarely do Pleasure Beach get strong reviews of their ‘mazes’ so it’ll be very interesting to see just how the sale of tickets pans out regarding the mazes Vs the entry into the park simply to experience a spooky park in the evening.

The value does get better when you purchase the 3 maze pass working out at £10 a maze but that’s still incredibly overpriced for what you’re getting, you’ll see what I mean when you go (if you haven’t been already).

But with that said this is a positive step forward for the park and it’s a system fans have been calling out for since day 1 of this event.

The park will be much busier at night now and having lots of rides to experience is already an incredible night out so with the option of doing the mazes on-top I really like it I just wish they brought someone in to design proper scare mazes.

They’re very disjointed and so weak that the pricing of them individually to me seems wild but I’ll take the positives. It’s a great step forward!

Maze themes and further details will be announced at a later date so here’s hoping for a massive shake-up!

You only need to look at Fear Island at Fantasy Island to know what’s possible at a smaller independent park with the right team behind the mazes. They are utterly incredible!

Pleasure Beach has the ambience and the entertainment nailed down to perfection, they just need to bring the quality of their mazes up to match!

Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO at Pleasure Beach Resort, said:

“Journey to Hell has become one of our most popular seasonal events, and we want even more people to be able to experience it.

This new format offers greater value and flexibility, and means visitors can enjoy a seamless transition from day to night. For those brave enough to take things further, our scare mazes are available either as a full package, or can be booked individually if you’re feeling brave on the night.

Journey to Hell in 2026 will be bigger, bolder and more terrifying than ever – and this is only the beginning.”

Journey to Hell 2026 will run from October 17 until October 31. Right now, guests can get 10 per cent off tickets by visiting https://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/events/journey-to-hell/ and using code JTH10 at the checkout.
