Today a statement was released announcing Bollywood Parks Dubai part of Dubai Parks and Resorts has closed permanently.
After closing temporarily for Ramadan on March 22nd the park today announced that it would not reopen to the public.
Bollywood Parks has been operating for seven years and as part of a Dubai Parks and Resorts restructuring the future is unclear about this rather large space in the Dubai Parks and Resorts complex.
The park wrote on Instagram:
“Bollywood Parks Dubai will close permanently from April 20, 2023,”
“A special thanks to all our guests, partners, and teams for bringing the music and colours of Bollywood to life.”
While the park is closing, one of its main attractions, the Raj Mahal Theatre, will continue to host private events. Its reopening date has not yet been announced.
The park has been a platform for fans to celebrate Bollywood film and music and broke a world record in 2021 by opening the tallest swing ride in the world.
Fans took to social media to voice their disappointment bud sadly with visitor numbers being insanely low the park was deserted during our first (and now last) visit to the park.
I can only imagine this to be one of the major factors in the closure of the park but the park has also stated on its website that “We will be announcing exciting details of the new attractions and experiences in the coming months.”
Bollywood Parks may be closing for good but there is definitely something already planned for this themed space. The giant Raj Mahal building will also remain open for private events it has been confirmed.
Bollywood Parks was one of the several themed destinations within Dubai Parks and Resort, which include Montiongate and Legoland.
In November 2022 a Real Madrid theme park opening in Dubai was announced with the park set to open sometime this year. No location for that park was announced, could Bollywood Parks be the new home of this new Real Madrid park set to be home to rollercoasters, a museum, football games and more?
After speaking to various staff at Motiongate during our visit we were also told of a Motiongate park expansion is on the cards in the foreseeable.
Whatever it is we won’t have to wait long to find out!
