2025 sees Bommelwereld theme park open to the public as this brand new indoor theme park was discussed at IAAPA Amsterdam this past week. Let’s dive into all of the information that was revealed at the conference.

Based in Groenlo, Netherlands Bommelwereld roughly translates to ‘Bommel World or World of Bommel’ and is based off the very popular cartoon created by Maarten Toonder.
The park will be 9000 square metres in size and is expected to bring in 100,000 visitors a year.
From a slide that allows guests to arrive into the theme park in style to a Vekoma family coaster with mountain range theming, there are plenty of fun things for all the family under one roof.
A Zamperla Rockin’ Tug, mini-flume from ABC Rides including a dark ride segment, fun house, play area, baby bounce towers and more, there really is a lot going on all in one very heavily themed space.

Especially in the Netherlands, it is special for a theme park to be built from scratch. It is therefore extra fun to show how we went from the drawing board to a themed setting and to reveal the extraordinary line-up of attractions. This exclusive preview is the perfect chance to experience Bumblebee World before anyone else does.
The castle shown in the concept art is based on all of the illustrations from the comics which have been meticulously recreated and from there you enter the castle entrance where there will be ticketing, the lobby and a few of the many attractions within this space.
For guests who aren’t familiar with Bommel the Bear there is a gallery where people can read about his adventures along with articles, paintings and much more to bring you quickly up to speed!
A harbour will be built inside which is a little rough around the edges as you bounce around Rommeldam (the main city) and then head out into nature with the ABC Rides mini-flume.
The entire park rides and attractions certainly bring even more magic to the Dutch theme park space and is another reason to get yourself over to the Netherlands ready for it to open in Spring 2025.
