Merlin Entertainments Group have applied for a brand new trademark request today for the ride name Croc Drop.
The very same ride that will replace Rameses Revenge at Chessington Wold of Adventures.
This drop tower ride will stand at 25.6m tall and will consist of a 16-seat gondola that will ascend to the top and ‘free-fall’ down the tower.
The ride will include a wide open-mouthed crocodile head which will be placed around the drop tower making it look as though guests are flying towards the crocs open mouth.
This giant crocodile head will be 12.1m tall and 12.5 wide taking up substantial height of the ride itself.
The ride structure will be based on the Ancient Egyptian god Sobek, a giant crocodile form creature and will be aged to fit the Egyptian theme of the surrounding Forbidden Kingdom.

It is said that the ride will also use fountains to spray water at riders as they enter the crocodiles mouth with various smoke and lighting effects to enhance the experience.
This new application for a trademark almost certainly confirms the name of the upcoming drop tower to be Croc Drop.
The ride is set to open in time for the 2021 season.
There’s certainly a lot to look forward to within the UK theme park scene next year that’s for sure!
