Dreams do come true! Only recently was I in discussion with friends as to why a horror theme park hasn’t been opened yet anywhere in the world and my prayers have come true this week as a brand new Dracula theme park is set to open in Romania in 2027!

Inspired by the cultural and architectural heritage of Transylvania this new theme park is set to create 200 jobs and are working in conjunction with Zamperla announced the new park with great pride.

This horror theme park will be based in Băile Jigodin and will be constructed from an investment of 56 million euros ready for a 2027 opening.

The park is being advertised as a Transylvanian Disneyland but an official name for the park has not been unveiled.

Ideas for the park revolve around a fairytale world from the 14th and 15th centuries and will have a Middle Age vibe to weave into the myth of Dracula.

Architectural elements will include carousels, ruins, mirror halls and haunted castles and accommodation spaces are also being planned for future development.

In addition to this there will also be a bear sanctuary which will be connected to the amusement park by a cable car allowing visitors to observe from above.

They are expecting to attract around 600,000 visitors annually.

Back in 2002 a Dracula theme park sadly never made it to construction for a multitude of reasons but hopefully this project has more legs to it and will come to fruition.
