A Drayton Manor Intamin Lift and Launch coaster has been announced as this family-friendly thrill coaster will be the first rollercoaster built at the resort since 2011.
Intamin has today been confirmed as the manufacturer behind the brand-new rollercoaster being built at Drayton Manor set to open in 2024.
The UK theme park told Blooloop officially and exclusively today that the new lift and launch coaster will be part of a multimillion-pound investment continuing the park’s development.
As part of new ownership under the Looping Group Drayton Manor has gone from strength to strength with the reopening of the Rapids ride, Adventure Cove and Vikings-themed areas and now the brand new 2024 coaster announcement.
Boardings have been dotted around the construction site which hints that the coaster may have a western or mining theme with rumours of that whole area being revamped to the new theming of this brand-new coaster.
Drunken Barrels, Sheriff Showdown and surrounding rides will be rumoured to have a makeover to fit the theming of the new addition.
With names such as Gold Rush, Gold Mind and snake-themed names doing the rounds as potential choices for the new rollercoaster we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for this brand new ride!
Lift and Launch Coaster from Intamin as per the sales pitch video below clearly show that they thrive in a well-themed environment. The experience isn’t a top thrill experience but more of a family-friendly one but the immersion of the theming makes or breaks the ride.
With theming being paramount in all of Drayton’s recent projects then we can expect to see something rather special from this brand-new addition.
The Looping Group has very clearly pinpointed Drayton Manor as its jewel in the crown. Its other UK parks include West Midland Safari Park and Pleasurewood Hills with the latter seemingly going to rack and ruin.
West Mids is now focused on hospitality and overnight accommodation with a variety of beautifully themed lodges within animal enclosures and Drayton has been earmarked as the theme park focus for The Looping Group with investments flying in all over the place!
