Ahead of the spring opening of the Drayton Manor Vikings themed land some new images have surfaced of Drayton Manor Vikings merchandise already up for sale in the park.
The brand new land is coming along a treat with cartoony style theming similar to that of Adventure Cove (last year’s new land that opened to a warm reception) beautiful Vikings theming and the new rides testing constantly ahead of the currently unknown opening date.

Photos of the land (courtesy of Theme Park Insanity) are included within this article but I only have one gripe.
Sleipnir the horse ride is based on Odin’s horse from mythology that was actually birthed by Loki (he transformed into a horse and birthed Sleipnir, it’s a very strange story) but the horse in fact has 8 legs in mythology. Sleipnir the ride as shown in the photo below does not. It has four legs. If you’re naming a ride after an 8 legged horse at least give it 8 legs.

Other than that small niggle I genuinely can’t fault anything else, it’s absolutely outstanding!
From the level of detailing to the inclusion of the UK’s first Zamperla Nebulaz ride and even the ongoing rumour of another roller coaster coming to the park within the next two years, it’s such an exciting time to be a UK theme park enthusiast.
Bookings for the Vikings themed hotel rooms seem to be flying off the shelves and there are nothing but positive reviews from guests staying in these well-detailed rooms.

Rather than cheap vinyl lining the walls, Drayton Manor has gone the extra mile to theme these little rooms and whilst I’m not a big fan of the blinds over the window everything else does look very funky indeed.
Great for families and fully immersive with Viking helmets included for the little ones to have their own battles in a themed Vikings room.

The merchandise is currently on sale in the Drayton Manor shop and it includes sword and shield cushions (priced at a little steep £18.99), mugs and even Viking helmets.
There are also themed goblets that look very well designed and whilst it’s just the start of the merchandise line I’m sure there’s much more to come.

Having this cartoony theme certainly gives Drayton free range with the merchandise. Viking plushies, hoodies, Viking themed wooden crafts and more are all possible options to throw into the mix to expand the range of this new area.
With the work on the area absolutely flying at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they open it this month! We absolutely can’t wait.
