Efteling Aquanura Show Has Been REVAMPED!

Aquanura Show 2024 Efteling

Efteling has today announced that their famous Aquanura water show will be revamped now that the high season has officially been completed.

Major changes to the spectacular show will see four new eight-metre ‘Beacons of Light’ that will be placed around the pond and Aquanura’s resident frogs will also be given a matching metamorphosis.

The entire musical score will also be changed and the new music will be revealed this winter.

What this does mean for the Aquanura show however is that the fire effects will be removed eliminating the use of Propane.

The park has done this as part of its climate ambitions of being climate-neutral by 2030 and climate-positive by 2032.

Efteling will also be replacing all existing show lighting with LED lights. Since last Autumn, the buildings in Anderrijk, the same area as Aquanura, have been connected to a heat and cold storage (WKO) system that ensures the buildings are heated without the use of natural gas.

The Aquanura pond is also connected to remain sustainably frost-free throughout the winter. Thanks to this WKO installation, Efteling’s gas consumption has been reduced by 20%.

Whilst I understand the reasons for removing the fire effects I feel as though it was a very integral part of the show and really added that ambience and intensity when it came to certain musical scores. It’s a shame they couldn’t find a more efficient way to still incorporate the effects but I’m sure the show will not suffer as a result.
