Today at IAAPA in Amsterdam ETF Ride Systems have unveiled their most recent new addition to their dark ride lineup, the Dynamic Mover.
On display for the first time today and showcasing a few of its tricks at the ETF booth the Dynmaic Mover was created in-house without consulting any external potential customers. Their years of experience were put lovingly into this ride system and this new product is a joy to behold.

The mover is similar to their current product the Multi Mover from a surface (top part) level as it consists of a gondola of two rows that each have space for three guests. Each row contains a single lap bar restraint but it’s the base of the vehicle which holds all of the secrets.
The Dynamic Mover features a square base as opposed to a round base commonly used in ETF rides but the base is capable of higher acceleration in addition to rotating on the spot and in each possible direction regardless of its orientation making it omnidirectional.
ETF’s Dynamic Mover can make sharp 90° turns, even without a radius, and thus can make much more efficient use of space.
Rotating at a speed of 10 rounds per minute (rpm) there has been a significant speed increase in addition to a major upgrade in the system’s navigational aspects.

No track, and no wire with this particular model as pre-scanned routes have been introduced with this ride model where the entire path through the building is scanned in advance creating a 2D map. Based on the map the route is programmed and vehicles follow the designated path with onboard scanners to ensure they stay on course.
For safety reasons, the vehicles are equipped with two sensors on opposite corners of the base. These will create a 360° view around the vehicle and scan for objects or persons in their ride path. This is a procedure put in place so that if the ride detects something that shouldn’t be there it will come to a complete stop.
If you’re after an action / faster-paced dark ride with more unique movements and efficiency the Dynamic Mover will certainly be a hit with parks across the globe as dark ride technology continues to improve every single year.
