Lift Hills and Thrills is officially on the Europa Park press list and to celebrate we have our very first update from them in the form of the upcoming Europa Park Halloween jubilee event!
Germany’s largest amusement park is celebrating the spookiest time of the year again: all manner of witches, ghosts and a hauntingly beautiful music accompaniment will immerse visitors in a unique atmosphere from 30. September to 05. November 2023.
Extraordinary decoration, an autumnal range of food options and breathtaking shows are sure to put visitors in the Halloween mood. Then, after dark, the fearless can look forward to the multi-award-winning horror spectacle ‘Traumatica’.
The Rulantica water world also becomes eerily beautiful, offering the perfect opportunity to escape the dullest of autumn days. After many exciting moments, visitors can then relax in the Europa-Park Hotel Resort.
For 25 years now, dark figures have cavorted through Germany’s largest theme park among 180,000 glowing orange regional pumpkins, 15,000 chrysanthemums, 6,000 corn plants, 3,000 bales of hay and over 100,000 autumn flowers, while the Halloween atmosphere is perfected with thick cobwebs and mystical music.
Creepily Rides and Fun Entertainment

In the 16 European themed areas, there are fun rides for the whole family, even during this colourful season, but visitors who aren’t careful may find themselves spooked.
In the Magic Cinema 4D, MACK Magic presents an exciting 12-minute film about Nikola Tesla. The immersive cinema experience provides a thrilling insight into the inventor’s little-known period in Europe, as well as a glimpse of the future rollercoaster in the Croatia themed area at Europa-Park.
In the French themed area, the Spooky Kids Village offers various activities for children. Guests can have their hair styled for Halloween or romp through the ‘Spooky Steps’.
Excitement also continues in the Dutch themed area. Here, the popular ‘Koffiekopjes’ are transformed into ‘Griezelkopjes’ with lightning effects and spooky music, making the ride a very special experience.
Spooky decorations transform the fast-paced Spanish carriage carousel ‘Feria Swing’ into a ‘Flight of the Vampires’.
For anyone feeling peckish after the action-packed riding fun, there are plenty of special seasonal delicacies available.
The culinary delights of Europa-Park are also characterised by the colourful season, with delicious pumpkin and other autumnal dishes, as well as typical Oktoberfest specialties.
With full stomachs, visitors can then look forward to the best entertainment. In the Europa-Park Teatro, the illusion artist Vincent Vignaud casts a spell over the audience with the show ‘Darkness’.
Visitors can look forward to a breathtaking mixture of dance and magic that blurs the lines between reality and illusion. In the Greek themed area, thirsty vampires and dancing skeletons provide the best entertainment in the ice show ‘Surpr’ice with the Celtic Shadows’, while a spooky game of life and death begins on Halloween in the show ‘Checkmate’ at the Globe Theatre.
‘Traumatica’ – Europa Park Halloween – The Ultimate Thrill

The horror event ‘Traumatica’ is not for the faint of heart. The multi-award-winning scary spectacle is sure to have even most fearless of visitors breaking out in a sweat. ‘Traumatica – Festival of Fear’ will take place this year from 27. September to 11. November 2023, Friday to Sunday, on selected Thursdays and on Halloween (31. October). The preview is on 27. September, with tickets available in advance.

In addition, since 14. September, a new episode of the five-part documentary series ‘How to become a monster in 90 days’ has been available exclusively on VEEJOY every Thursday.
Monster maker Bill McCoy is on a quest to create the ultimate horror experience for ‘Traumatica’. With the help of his team, he wants to create the perfect monster. To do this, he is developing a special horror boot camp in which talented amateur actors learn the art of scaring in 90 days and transform themselves into true monsters with the help of Hollywood make-up.
SWR3 Europa Park Halloween-Party
Attention ghosts and vampires of the night: On 31. October, Germany’s biggest Halloween party will take place again in Europa-Park. Guests can party to the beats of their choice in the iconic Silent Disco or pose in their Halloween outfit at the photo point. At Rulantica Vibes on selected dates in the swim-up bar in the Frigg Temple, adults can look forward to some pumping beats from the DJs. Autumn delicacies such as delicious Halloween wraps, fiery Pizza Diavolo, Poutine Chicken Pumpkin or a refreshing Halloween cocktail provide refreshment.
There’s plenty of action at the Tønnevirvel round trip attraction, which is open all year round, where guests can get involved in a water fight on gondolas that twirl through the crystal-clear water. This year also saw the launch of ‘Vikingløp’, the largest speed slide in Europe, adding to the water fun. With eight tube slides and a total length of more than 1,500 metres, the guests slide down while lying on mats and race each other to the bottom.
After the sliding fun, visitors can relax in the new Rulantica Svits ‘Nørd’, ‘Øst’, ‘Sør’ and ‘Vest’, situated high up in the Nordiskturn. These optional day suites offer numerous luxurious amenities such as a sauna, a cosy lounge area and a private loggia.
