Roller coaster history was made as Falcons Flight at Six Flags Qiddiya City begins its testing phase as the world’s tallest, longest and fastest roller coaster is slowly but surely coming to life!
The theme park industry hasn’t quite had a milestone like this for quite some time and as the coaster drops off the 600 foot cliff the roar of the specially designed LSM’s (Linear Synchronous Motors) kick-in Falcons makes a noise that sounds rather much like a jet fighter engine taking off, it truly is one of the most incredible sounds I’ve ever witnessed on a roller coaster.
Falcons Flight will be testing in three stages and at this moment in time has not completed a full circuit around the track. Sections of the ride are being tested individually with the initial launch and layout, followed by the cliff launch and the drop off the cliff and finally the last layout of the ride.
This was a roller coaster that many said would be impossible to create but Intamin has created something truly out of this world that has been designed ti withstand intense heat and incredible speeds as the world records have not just been broken but shattered.
Riders will board one of six (yes, six) operating simultaneously trains via a dual-load station and will have just a lap bar on them throughout the entire ride duration and a wind-screen infront of you (designed by Mercedes) so you don’t need to wear glasses during your experience similar to Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
This restraint design mixed with the ridiculous heights you’ll be traversing will make Falcons Flight one of the most incredible experiences for coaster enthusiasts and thrill seekers alike anywhere in the world.
