As part of Alton Towers epic fireworks spectacular show it seems one firework went astray near an outbuilding and set a tree ablaze.
The Alton Towers fire was reported to be around X-Sector (where The Smiler and Oblivion reside) but was quickly put out by firefighters. Both X-Sector and Dark Forest have remained closed.

An Alton Towers spokesman said: “This was a minor incident, with no risk to the public.
“As a result, we will not be reopening X Sector and the Dark Forest this evening. We apologise to guests for any inconvenience.”
