A Dazzling Forest Green Rovers Kit and Vegan Food – Away Day Review

Forest Green Rovers

My first trip to the New Lawn Stadium to watch Port Vale away led to an eye-dazzling experience with the new Forest Green Rovers kit and my first taster of vegan food.

The New Lawn Stadium is certainly a unique stadium indeed.

A small ground with a capacity of 5,147 but it has a few hidden tricks up its sleeve.

The New Lawn Stadium has the worlds first organic pitch and comes equipped with over 180 solar panels so the club generates its own electricity.

It’s said that the solar panels power around 25% of the stadium although these figures are from 2012 and may differ today.

Forest Green Rovers Kit

As the players took to the pitch my eyes widened to adjust to the bright green Forest Green Rovers Kit with a tear design as though the hulk has just picked a fight with Wolverine.

If a player ran too fast at any point the shirt would blur and my matchday vlog (see below) was certainly having issues when recording the running players.

The kit is made from waste coffee grounds and recycled water bottles. A lower-priced fan edition made from the club’s existing sustainable bamboo fabric is available as well.

But eye adjustments on this kit aside, I was here for the food.

Forest Green Rovers Vegan Food

Forest Green Rovers are the worlds first vegan football club and the away food on offer was certainly unique.

Here is the menu from Devil’s Kitchen

Forest Green Rovers Away Food Menu

Forest Green Rovers away fans have absolutely no alcohol choices within the New Lawn Stadium so if you’re looking for a drink you’ll have to head into town (15-minute walk) for a pint.

The home team pub isn’t open to away fans so get those walking boots on!

Being the lazy sod that I am I decided to just eat food and have a nice green cola to wash it all down.

I must say that the chips (cooked in grapeseed oil) were absolutely outstanding with the curry sauce and the vegan burger along with a pickle and tomato was incredibly tasty indeed.

Usually, football ground food makes theme park food seem like Michelin star quality but Forest Green Rovers are on another level entirely.

The nicest away ground food that I’ve tasted so far in my life that excludes hospitality food options.

A really tasty meal, so much so I wanted to get one of the infamous pasties at halftime but was too busy in shock with the scoreline.
