First reported on UK Theme Parks it has been announced that Gold Rush the brand new Lift and Launch coaster manufactured by Intamin at Drayton Manor is set to open to the public on July 26th.
The new ride will form part of Frontier Falls, a brand new Wild-West-themed area which opened earlier this year in spring.
Riders will climb aboard a mine train as the western land will come to life around them taking visitors on an unforgettable and unpredictable journey.
The Gold Rush roller coaster will consist of a world’s first multi-directional experience where you’re in for double the fun with two unique routes to take.
This unique element of surprise attached to the coaster makes Gold Rush re-rideable as you won’t know which setting you’re going to get!
Gold Rush is the first rollercoaster in the UK to feature a backwards launch into an ‘outdoor gravity track’. Yup, I have no clue what one of them is either!
The ride has a two-minute ride time across the longest track length for a family roller coaster in the UK. Just to make this clear, the ride doesn’t have the longest overall track (even Th13teen at Alton Towers has a longer track) but because of the unique ride experience, you’ll be covering a longer distance over that track.

There’s a minimum height requirement of 1 metre for the ride meaning it’s suitable for many children and as equally thrilling for them as the adults sitting alongside them!
