With Alton Towers being in the middle of nowhere you can expect many of these beautiful countryside manors to be on the list.
Weston Hall in Stafford is a beautiful grade II listed building over 500 years old surrounded by 20 acres of Staffordshire countryside.
A location very popular for weddings, film shoots and more.
The hall is a little further out of the way being 12.2 miles away from Alton Towers.
The hall consists of 8 bedrooms so make sure you book well in advance as they get snapped up rather quickly.
Also if you’re a fan of a murder mystery night or two the hall put on such wonderful evening events themed around various famous murder stories and characters.

Travelodge Ashbourne Hotel

Situated 6 miles from Alton Towers (a short 15-minute drive) is the Travelodge Ashbourne Hotel, another affordable and nearby accommodation.
Prices start from £59 per night and contain all of the usual Travelodge amenities.
With Ashbourne being so close to Dovedale and other walks/sightseeing tours there’s plenty to keep yourself occupied with between rollercoaster marathons.

Situated 6.2 miles from Alton Towers is the White Hart Hotel smack bang in the middle of Uttoxeter City Centre.
With sumptuous food and a lovely hotel atmosphere, this former coaching inn dates back to the 16th century!
Having undergone a million-pound refurbishment and transformation, The 3-Star White Hart Hotel now has 19 bedrooms that are all very impressive indeed.
Prices start from £100 a night but I’d go for the food alone.
Get one of the skewers if you go, I had a Kentucky fried chicken skewer with gravy and it was to die for!
