Today marked the day that the park opened its doors to a select few VIP pass holders for an upcharge behind-the-scenes tour of the sparkle project at the resort where more Hyperia details were revealed to lucky visitors.
Hyperia now has track competition as the UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster is ready to rock and roll with trains to arrive on-site in a matter of weeks.
With an opening date still unknown (May or June at a guess) the park has revealed more details regarding the ride that up until today were unknown to the public.
Today it was confirmed that Hyperia will be getting a single-rider queue and a front-row queue that you can wait for specifically when inside the station.

We also got a very honest answer as to why the ride is stylised as opposed to heavily themed and the truth is, budget.
Back when Merlin was under previous leadership Hyperia was one of the final projects of the previous Merlin CEO. Scott O Neil recently took over the role in November 2022 as Merlin CEO and instantly invested more money into the Hyperia project to bring it up to scratch.
Thorpe said that whilst the ride isn’t heavily themed they’re happy with it and assured us that in the future more budget would be ploughed into theming across all future Merlin projects, not just at Thorpe Park Resort.
Guests were also shown around brand new themed Hyperia rooms within the shark cabins but unlike the standard reskin of vinyls that feature in the other themed rooms the Hyperia room is a bit classier.

Featuring leather headboards the room already oozes a bit more class than the other cabins with a Hyperia emblem light on the wall that looks classy.
The lore of the ride is also written on the door of the room, if only I had a photographic memory to recite it all for you!
Hyperia lore basics featured a lot of discussion of a winged goddess. ascension and flight over gardens and water.
These rooms will go for a pretty penny and whilst I don’t feel they are worth the $$ they are certainly a step up from the usual cabin offering.

This paid event was an absolute treat and a pleasure to be a part of and we’re so glad we booked our tickets to this very special and exclusive event.
