Hyperia Trains REVEALED at Thorpe Park Resort

Thorpe Park Hyperia

The Hyperia trains have today been unveiled as this glorious metal wing style design has been revealed to the public for the first time.

The UK’s tallest coaster is hours (yes hours) away from testing for the first ever time and a teaser was posted on the Thorpe Park social media pages today showcasing the new trains in all of their glory.

People have taken to social media with mostly positive comments comparing the rollercoaster train to a Lamborghini Gallardo which was my initial thought but others haven’t been so kind saying it looks more like Bumblebee off Transformers and doesn’t fit the lore of the story.

For those who don’t know the lore of Hyperia, it is as follows:

Hyperia was the daughter of an ancient river god, and her fear of water imprisoned her on the island she called home.

She refused to be defined by her fear and embarked on a quest to fashion her own wings which would allow her to escape the island

With unyielding determination, she toiled tirelessly, crafting wings of steel that would grant her the ability to soar through the skies.

Once her wings were complete. Summoning all of her courage, she valiantly leaped into the void.

Miraculously, the wings responded to her will, carrying her higher into the sky. Hyperia found herself flying, soaring above the very water that once imprisoned her.

As she glided through the clouds, Hyperia felt an exhilaration she had never known. She was free, and the world below her stretched out like a tapestry of endless possibilities.

From that day forward, Hyperia’s fearlessness knew no bounds.

Hyperia had conquered her fear of water by defying it, she became a legend, a symbol of triumph over adversity, and a testament to the power that lies within each and every person to overcome their deepest fears.

For me, the train absolutely depicts the metal wings that are forged for Hyperia to take flight. The front of the train’s black rivot styling perfectly showcases these wings and they match the logo perfectly.

The queue line and station have certainly suffered from budget issues but the trains (for me) certainly feel together with the story and they are rather breathtaking to look at.

Naturally in showroom lighting the trains look more gold than they actually are, Hyperia trains have a colour scheme known as RAL8000 which is Green Brown, so not quite gold.

Within UK weather conditions they’ll certainly look more dull than they do in these brightly lit press photos and slickly shot reveal video.

Hyperia stands 71m tall and consists of 995.4m of track reaching speeds of over 80mph.

Taking 5,292 man hours to build the opening date for the ride has still not been announced, all we know is that Spring is the season it will be launching in.

Check out the official train reveal video that the park posted on social media today. It’s quite something!

After months of construction, a 500-tonne crane helped to lift the 92nd and final piece of track into place. Stay tuned for testing footage over the next few hours!
