Ice Blast 3D Model Released By Blackpool Pleasure Beach

ICE BLAST 3D Model

Blackpool Pleasure Beach have today released a limited Ice Blast 3D model.

Limited to 100 pieces this Pleasure Beach model requires some construction.

Priced at a very reasonable £35 (much less than previous ride models) this 3D display piece requires glue to affix the model together.

Using some superglue you’ll have your very own S&S Worldwide Shot Tower in no time!

This model is a wonderful replica of the 20 storey high shot tower which catapults riders vertically up a 210 foot tower at 80mph!

Reaching G forces of up to 4.5g and -1g Ice Blast is certainly a Stomach intensive experience.

ICE BLAST Blackpool Pleasure Beach Model

The shot tower opened at Pleasure Beach in 1997. Sony were the ride sponsors with a Playstation themed colour scheme and advertising.

It was the first tower ride in the UK. In 2002 the ride was renamed Ice Blast following a new sponsor.

In 2004 was named Tango Ice Blast after the drink of the same name.

Whilst it’s the second tallest drop tower ride (behind The Volcano at Fantasy Island) but it is the fastest.

It’s crazy to think that in the 100+ visits to Blackpool Pleasure Beach that I’ve only ever done the shot tower once, yes once.

It scared the life out of me for so long!

Last year was the first time I’d ever done the ride and it didn’t disappoint!

Within the first few hours of going live 12 models have already sold but there’s still plenty more up for grabs.
