Jurassic River Adventure Closing for 10 Month Refurbishment

JP River Adventure

This week Universal Studios Orlando announced that the Jurassic Park River Adventure ride would be closed for nearly 10 months in 2026 fuelling speculation of a major refurbishment or a rebranding.

The ride will open again on November 20th, 2026.

No specific reason has been published regarding the extended closure but hopefully the ride doesn’t switch over to the Jurassic World overlay as featured in Universal Hollywood.

The final day to ride Jurassic River Adventure is January 4th, 2026.

We’ll make sure to post more updates as and when we receive them but Universal Orlando is certainly going full steam ahead on refurbishments and overall park maintenance as it was also announced within the past 7 days that Lost Continent in Island of Adventures is set to be demolished leaving a large space for a new land or variety of attractions.

Not only that but the recently opened Epic Universe theme park is also undergoing work on its expansion zones as they are reportedly working on more attractions and lands for the future.

Epic Universe (if rumours are to be believed) was in the process of opening 6 lands before budget restrictions forced Universal to focus on opening four lands to the best of their ability as opposed to 6 lands with that budget spread.

Stay tuned for more updates as and when we receive them.
