Inside the Jurassic World Exhibition in Manchester

Jurassic World Exhibition Manchester

We were kindly invited down to check out the brand new Jurassic World exhibition as this world-touring Universal Pictures attraction hits Manchester.

Stepping straight into the movies you’ll experience a boat trip to Isla Nublar where you will come face to face with some beautiful animatronic dinosaurs.

Sean Evans at Jurassic World Exhibition

Words cannot merely describe how lifelike these creatures look and move and they’re wonderfully displayed within themed areas that truly bring the movies (and the creatures) to life before your very eyes.

From the armored adult Ankylosaurus and the ferocious Carnotaurus to Blue the to Velociraptors there’s a lovely blend of creatures to learn about and see with your own eyes in lifelike scale.

Exhibition Entrance

It blew me away just how gracefully the creatures moved and there was a magic about the entire walkthrough attraction that you wouldn’t quite believe it was a pop-up experience.

A Universal UK theme park might be soon on the horizon but even a simple pop-up like this just gives you a taste of the animatronic quality, theming quality and immersion that Universal brings to the table. This pop-up was already head and shoulders above the vast majority of UK offerings in terms of attractions.

Isla Nubla Boat

It’s so exciting knowing that Universal could very soon be an approved project here in the UK and their competition better watch out because Universal will blow the rest out of the water when even their pop-ups are better quality than the vast majority of theme park attractions offerings.

You’ll spend a good 45-60 minutes in the Jurassic World exhibition if you stop and enjoy all of the interactive experiences, speak to members of staff (who are all in character) and indulge in all of the displays and hands-on activities.

Dino Meet and Greet

There are photo-ops aplenty from little meet and greets with baby dinosaurs to a full-size gyrosphere that you can sit in and grab a photo. You can take as many photos and videos as you like and there is also a professional photo opportunity available as you enter the experience.

Pricing for the event does vary and whilst on some days it can get quite expensive (£35 for adults on certain days) what I would recommend is the family package which gives you a 10% discount per person on a 2 adults and 2 children deal.

Raptor Enclosure

The variety of experiences from a walkthrough to interactive and then the two shows (Blue Encounter and a big T-Rex finale) I feel you certainly get your money’s worth if you can appreciate the work and effort that goes into this.

For the T-Rex scene alone I’d go back, you’re front and centre of an iconic scene and you’re the star but not only that it’s the most impressive animatronic that I’ve ever seen and looks very similar to one that is pride of place within a Universal Studios attraction in Tokyo with similar ‘chasing’ style movements.

T Rex

The Jurassic World Exhibition ends in a merchandise shop where they sell everything from T-shirts to mugs, patches, pop figures plushies and more!

Get those cameras at the ready because around every corner is an Instagram photo just waiting to happen.

What a wonderful experience that is perfect for all the family (and cheaper if you choose the family package) and great for the dinosaur nerds in all of us!
