The famous Kiss Me Quick shop at Blackpool Pleasure Beach is closing its doors as the store is set to move location for the 2023 season according to recent rumours.
With Valhalla due to open in March 2023 (we’ll take this with a pinch of salt) there is going to be some change around at Blackpool Pleasure Beach when it comes to the retail options it seems.
Originally due to open this year, the ride has had absolutely zero updates from the park since the 2022 opening date was announced and only at a recent fashion show sporting new Valhalla merchandise for 2023 was the opening date of March 2023 mentioned in passing conversation at the event although this hasn’t been officially announced or confirmed.
The Kiss Me Quick Shop has seemingly overgrown its small confined space underneath the flying machines with merchandise practically flowing out of the doors during some visits this season so a new location looks to potentially be on the cards.
On the park map for the 2022 season, it was listed that Loki’s bar will become home to the new Valhalla store but this has changed already as a brand new Ski Bar sign has been erected suggesting the return of Loki’s bar or a renamed version of it.
Could the Valhalla shop be moving into the Kiss Me Quick Shop now that the originally planned location has now been taken?
For me, the location seems a little suspect in terms of the Valhalla store. Kiss Me Quick relocating makes perfect sense but the Valhalla shop inside The Flying Machines store doesn’t seem like a good fit for me. The aesthetic of the store just doesn’t fit Valhalla’s theme and the original location (as stated on the 2022 map) seems like a much better location.
Even building a makeshift shop for Valhalla would make more sense as The Flying Machines just doesn’t seem like a fitting location.
Just a rumour at this stage with the Valhalla shop location considering the 2022 map pinned location is clearly not happening but the Kiss Me Quick shop relocation looks to certainly be on the cards but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next year!
I’d absolutely love larger ranges of merchandise and more unique items and certainly a more expansive ride-part range that could extend into keepsakes and unique display pieces.
Every theme park has this copy-and-paste merchandise system and it gets really old, really fast. There are so many great ideas Pleasure Beach could explore in terms of merchandise that would catapult the retail department to unreachable heights but they never capitalise on it.
If you ever want some ideas BPB you know where I am, I’ll give you a good consultancy rate!
