LEGOLAND Windsor Flying Theatre is currently being constructed as the London based attraction looks to bring a UK first to the resort.
The new area is set to consist of a flying theatre attraction (the first in the UK), two family drop towers and a re-theme of Squid Surfer.
The expansion is also set to include a play ship area for children, a photo-opportunity and a games unit kiosk.
Work is well underway on the construction of the new flying theatre which is rumored to be identical to that contained within LEGOLAND Florida with a slightly different visual theme.
Originally the plans were to expand LEGOLAND Windsor to incorporate the LEGO movie into the surroundings including the flying theatre being LEGO movie-themed.
Over the last few months, however, the news on that has gone quiet as the park does set to be heading into a different direction in terms of the land theming.
This could potentially be due to LEGO cutting their ties with Warner Bros and as a result the movie-themed land will not be proceeding as planned.
However, this is just a rumor and we could still yet see a LEGO movie-themed area, only time will tell.
If you want to take a look at what a flying theatre involves then check out this video from LEGOLAND Florida below:
With many LEGOLAND dark rides already situated into the park, this does seem to be the direction the London-based attraction is going in.
Rides for all weather that can be operated anytime throughout the season and even rethemed for such events as Halloween or Christmas.
With last year’s investment of the Duplo Dino Coaster and then the Haunted House Monster Party Dark ride opening last year too it’s safe to say the park doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
Shawn Sanbrooke from Theme Park Worldwide headed down to LEGOLAND Windsor this weekend to try and get some construction footage and whilst limited in what we can see it gives you a better idea of the overall area and how it blends in with the rest of the park.
This new themed area including the flying theatre is set to open at LEGOLAND Windsor in 2021.
