M Club Spa and Fitness Stoke is part of a group of premier health and fitness clubs and we got access to the spa free of charge to bring you this review!
A friend of mine was doing promotional work for M Club and Waterworld (the water park located next door) and asked if we’d like to participate.
A free spa for the day, with food and drinks included followed by an evening in the water park. How could I possibly say no to that?
M Club consists of a comprehensive range of gym equipment, large studios and luxury spa & pool facilities. In addition to this it boasts a ladies-only gym along with a bar and restaurant.
My slightly expanding waistline does not even know the word gym, it’s a foreign dreamscape to me so let’s focus on another three lettered word that’s more up my street, spa.
The M Club spa in Festival Park Stoke is a very impressive building indeed from the second you enter its doors.

Greeted by the main reception that opens into a very open planned bar / restaurant it’s a quaint but rather inviting space.
The changing rooms are very fancy with beautiful wooden door lockers, hair drying facilities and showers but for the gents changing rooms (I’m not sure about the ladies) there were no private cubicles to get changed.
Expect to see many a naked bloke pacing up and down the changing rooms.
The changing facilities lead into the pool area along with other facilities within the spa.
A steam room where the air is pumped with aromatherapy oils that racks up quite the sweat as you can see merely centimetres in-front of you in this dense yet very therapeutic area.
The Sauna is right next door which offers the same type of experience if albeit a drier one than the steam room and then there’s a plunge pool if you fancy a dip into freezing cold water.

Along with a Hydro Pool equipped with massage cannons, floor jets and massage beds and a full sized pool it really is a great space to unwind.
The only issue I had with the jacuzzi was that the jets were set on timers so after about 3 minutes or so you had to move and press numerous buttons for whichever jet you wish to turn back on.
Sometimes the buttons weren’t working or you had to press two at the same time or in some cases they just weren’t working at all.
Some signage for what each jet does would be nice.
There was no signage for anything in the spa area so for someone like myself who had never been to a spa before I hadn’t got a clue what I was doing.
The food on offer in the restaurant is a mixed bag indeed from chilli con carne jacket potatoes to leaves and nuts (yes they’re on there).
M Club and Spa have devised a healthier menu but there’s a nice solid range of choice for all appetites.
After spending two hours in the spa as part of the promotional video I certainly felt well relaxed.
I visited on a weekend and whilst busy it never felt overcrowded and being a members-only Spa (except us) the people inside were there to relax and not to mess about so the atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. Two words I rarely use when describing anything in Stoke on Trent.
