Oh I hope that we get to see the return of Manchester’s Ice Village this year, it just didn’t feel the same last Christmas without it!
It had been a Christmas dream of mine to either check out an ice-bar or visit somewhere icy, cool and Christmassy.
But just before I start dreaming of luxurious trips to Iceland I went to check out the UK’s first ever Ice Village back in 2019.
Based in Cathedral Gardens the Ice Village features hundreds of intricate sculptures of everything Christmassy.
From giant polar bears to a huge roaring steam train the Ice Village contains 250 tonnes of ice art and the attention to detail is nothing short of breathtaking.

The walkthrough experience has been cooled to a chilly -10 degrees so make sure you wrap up warm as you walk through this festive experience.
Meet Rudolph and the gang, interact with the sculptures and you certainly won’t be short of photo opportunities whilst you’re inside.
Even better, once you’ve had a look around you can visit the ice bar and grab yourself a soft drink, mulled wine, cocktail or beer. It really is beginning to look like Christmas!

As you’re walking through the exhibit you’ll notice just how many of the sculptures pay tribute to Manchester’s history.
The world famous factory and industry references, football club references and even an ice sign for the Rovers Return from Coronation Street.
It’s hard not to admire the work and craftsmanship that has gone into creating this truly unique experience.
When the sun goes down and those Christmas market stalls open it’s hard not to feel like a kid on Christmas Eve just waiting for Santa Claus to drop off some presents under the tree.
