Ghostly Manor has been announced this weekend to be opening at Paultons Park in May 2025 as the park marks their first ever-dark ride with potentially a world’s first title.
During a Super Fans event that we attended information was revealed about the new ride including how many guests it would hold, glimpses of scenes within the ride and the plan for the ride system itself along with a teaser video of the backstory.
The plan for the ride system looked identical to the Mack Rides Gameplay Theatre which consists of a turntable where guests shoot escaped ghosts within themed sets mixed with screens in a revolving immersive experience.
Europa Park is set to add their own Gameplay Theatre to replace the Journey to Rulantica dark ride at the park but this model is a smaller scaled version of that ride with a smaller turntable but increased train capacity.
The concept art of the manor’s facade shows a beautifully themed facade that will stretch out into the surrounding area including a gated entrance and themed gardens. In true Paultons Park style the theming looks incredible and with it being the park’s first ever dark ride I can imagine that they’re going to go above and beyond creating this ride.
The ride system will be divided into 5 sections where each section of the carriage holds 8 rides (4 seating back to back) as the carriages rotate between inward physical sets and outward screens. There will be a total of 5 physical sets and 3 screens each 10m in size.
Guests will be able to shoot ghosts with their Phantom Phasers and we believe a pre-show is set to be included within the ride as you walk through the manor before boarding.
The guns have real-time positional tracking which instantly connects with the game engine and the guns feature haptic feedback and interactive LEDs. There are no need for physical targets within Ghostly Manor.
Ghostly Manor could very well be the UK’s best-themed dark ride and we absolutely cannot wait to hear more details about this truly outstanding ride.
A potential world’s first gameplay theatre (depending on when Europa Park decides to open theirs for their 50th anniversary) and Paultons first dark ride.
