Visitors to Paultons Park this season were greeted with two surprises. One was the Temple Heights ride missing completely and two, fencing was erected around the area saying that a Paultons Park new water ride would be splashing into Lost Kingdom in 2024.
Lost Kingdom is the dinosaur-themed area of Paultons Park where you meet dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes with beautiful foliage and a nice selection of rides in the area including two Vekoma roller coasters.
There are also lifelike animatronic dinosaurs, a play park and even an opportunity to come face to face with a living, walking animatronic dinosaur puppet.
The signage outside of the old Temple Heights area reads ‘New Ride Splashing Into Lost Kingdom in 2024’
Temple Heights opened in March 2016 but originally was located in 2005 on the site of the Wirly Copter rides but was known as Magic Carpet before being rethemed.
Temple Heights occupied a very small space but with them saying it’ll open in 2024 that seems like quite a substantial amount of time to wait for a small water ride unless theming is going to take much longer than the ride is to create/install.
This would make sense with the incredible theming that Paultons adds to their rides and even their most basic ride has incredible levels of theming.
Last year we also spotted work taking place on the site next to the Disk’O coaster which suggests even more developments are taking place at the Southampton-based park.
It’s great to see Paultons Park new water ride in its early development stages but what happens to the log flume situated not too far away from that area?
Stay tuned!
