The Pinewood Studios tour has been granted permission which will allow an expansion of Pinewood Studios in the UK to include a film-inspired visitor attraction.
Pinewood Studios has been a very private location for many years but all is set to change with the inclusion of a 350,000 square foot studio tour style attractions.
Pinewood Group’s application for the expansion has been approved by Buckinghamshire Council which means the £500m plan can be put into action.
The development will expand upon existing facilities and will create over 3500 new jobs.
This will be set to include new sound stages, a training hub a business hub and the aforementioned visitor attraction titled ‘Pinewood Studio Experience’.
With such films shot at the studio including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel movies and more the visitor attraction could be a very exciting prospect indeed.
Pinewood also recently announced it would also be expanding its Shepperton site.
The success of The Making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios has most certainly played a part in the decision to push forward with a visitor attraction at Pinewood and adds to the ever-growing list of UK attractions.
Information about the studio tour at this stage are limited but we’re hoping this behind-the-scenes look at movie making will be similar to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Los Angeles which was one of the best movie-themed attractions I’ve ever experience.
The Hollywood Studio Tours are certainly the best of the best and we only hope that the UK has an attraction just like it in the years to come.
