PortAventura World is bringing two new family attractions to their theme park set to open this summer as both Caribe Aquatic Park and PortAventura Park get new additions.
Coral Bay, The Lost Legend, a large-scale expansion of the Caribe Aquatic Park, and Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek, a new exploration trail in the park’s Polynesia area are set to join the parks line-up so let’s find out a little bit more about them!
Coral Bay, The Lost Legend

This 6,000 m² themed family area at the Caribe Aquatic Park is themed to a pirate bay that was submerged for centuries before reemerging from the ocean.
Included within this new area is a family water coaster, described as unique in Europa along with an adventure pool featuring a world-exclusive aquatic obstacle course, additional water slides for families and a new food and beverage outlet.
Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek

The second addition to the theme park in 2026 is Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek which will open inside the Polynesia area of the park.
It’s an outdoor trail that will feature elevated walkways, hanging bridges and nature-integrated obstacles and challenges.
Further evoking that original spirit into the Polynesia area the name “Makamanu” is inspired by Polynesian mythology and refers to a “bird’s gaze,” reflecting the attraction’s elevated paths and exploration theme.
Fernando Aldecoa, General Manager of PortAventura World said:
“We listen to our customers, and the new features we’re announcing for 2026 reflect our dedication to continuing to surprise them, creating unique moments for all audiences.”
Summer 2026 is when these attractions will officially be open as the Spanish theme park welcomes two more family-friendly experience to its already impressive line-up as this year has taken a more immersive and adventurous turn for investment as opposed to high-intensity thrill rides.
