A Potteries Museum Titanic Exhibition Is Coming Soon!

Potteries museum Titanic Exhibition

Numerous items are set to go on public display from the infamous ship as the Potteries Museum Titanic Exhibition is just around the corner.

The Titanic Honour & Glory exhibition will explore the legacy of the world’s most famous ship.

Consisting of genuine artefacts from the Titanic and her sister ship in addition to memorabilia from the 1997 James Cameron movie.

Objects are set to include fine china dinner plates from the ship, personal belongings of passengers and even a recreation of a third-class cabin.

Voted one of the top five exhibitions in the United Kingdom by The Times, and featured on the ITV Alan Titchmarsh Show, Titanic: Honour & Glory will explore her story, and those of her sister ships and their owners, the White Star Line, as well as revealing the local links of some of its passengers.

The exhibition’s showing at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery will also feature a moving display about the Staffordshire connections to the sinking of the Titanic.

The exhibition will also feature the account of local personnel connected to the ill-fated liner including its captain Edward John Smith.

Tickets will be priced at £5 whilst under 16’s can go in free of charge.

The touring exhibition holds around 7000 items but can be scaled to accommodate any size museum so no further details have been released in regards to the exhibition size.

Items have been collected over 20 years and is the largest collection of Titanic and White Star Line artefacts in Scotland.
Come face to face with history and explore this unique opportunity right in the heart of Stoke on Trent.

Usually touring exhibitions at the Potteries museum are quite small in scale due to the lack of space (mostly taken up by pots and plates and stuffed animals that have been there for 30+ years).

An exhibition like this would be great for the museum so I’m crossing my fingers that the upstairs area can be cleared out for a really expansive display rather than the little cramped displays that usually accommodate the lower floor.

The exhibition will be taking place between February 19th and May 1st.
