The countdown is over as Galacticoaster at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is now officially open and we were kindly sent some epic POV footage to share with you all today on its grand opening day!
This is Merlin Entertainments largest single in-park investment across LEGOLAND® Florida and California and this is the Florida parks first indoor, space-themed family coaster and the park’s first new coaster in 15 years!
The immersive new area is anchored by Galacticoaster, LEGOLAND Florida’s first indoor, space-themed family coaster — a next-generation attraction that places creativity and personalization at the center of the adventure.
Galacticoaster places riders in command of their own spacecraft from the moment they enter the queue. Guests begin in the Briefing Room, where Chief Engineer Biff Dipper
welcomes rookie cadets with signature LEGO humor and high-energy storytelling.
Inside the Customization Bay, guests design a digital spacecraft using interactive touchscreens across four build phases — nose, tail, wings, and a special element. Their custom ship is linked via RFID wristbands and integrated directly into the ride experience. With up to 625 possible ride combinations, no two missions are ever the same.
This 40mph coaster hurtles guests through space and really does have a little bit of a Cosmic Rewind wink and nod to it with even a certain in-screen effect mimicking that of an effect seen in TRON at Magic Kingdom where the graphics on-screen race alongside the roller coaster.
It’s these cool little Florida winks and nods that make Galacticoaster special and unique in its own right whilst at the same time feeling very familiar if you’re a coaster and theming nut like myself.
Check out the ride POV below, it’s so cool!
