Rocket at Southport Pleasureland Evacuated

The Rocket Coaster

The Rocket roller coaster at Southport Pleasureland got stuck this week as 19 people were evacuated from the ride.

A young girl lost consciousness after the ride at Southport Pleasureland stopped due to a fault on Saturday.
Fire crews rescued 19 people and a thorough investigation is underway as to why the ride stopped.

Everyone was evacuated safely and checked by paramedics whilst the young girl was taken to the hospital.

The theme park said all routine maintenance checks had been carried out before the ride began and the ride stopped as per its normal safety procedure when detecting a fault.

Nobody was at risk at any time and the panic caused by the media is nonsense.

An operations director made his way up to the gantry to speak to the riders and apologised for any distress caused.

The ride will be isolated as a precaution with a full inspection to be carried out.

This is not the first incident involving this roller coaster, Rocket at Southport Pleasureland was previously known as Crazy Train at Gulliver’s Warrington. A wheel flew off back in 2018 during operation and once again the train was evacuated.
