It’s still unclear what measures Scare Kingdom will be putting in place for ‘socially distanced scares’ but after confirmation from Scare Kingdom tha

t the event is still going ahead, I’m even more excited to see what they bring to the table.

Jason Karl, Creative Director of Scare Kingdom Scream Park said

“For our twelfth year of fear, we are re-developing our attractions with all-new storylines, characters and scares, plus we have the all-new Zozo’s Grind Housescare maze and Psychomanteum –Scared STIFF–a brand newversion of the ultimatescare experience for over 18’s only.

Across the park we have crazed doctors, killer clowns and sinister spirits who are ready and waiting to give guests something really scary to scream about!”

The Necropolis Line will take you on a one-way journey down the dead line. Visit paradise with a twist at The Paradise Foundation – Bliss TV and experience the UK’s ‘sickest attraction’ in a brand new way as Psychomanteum returns to seriously mess up your mental state.

After seeing numerous reviews of Psychomanteum it’s hard to see how they could socially distance in here but if they did, the ‘sickness’ would be ramped up so that’s even more frightening. Psychomanteum is an upcharge attraction (£6) at the event and it’s only for the brave.

The press release also states that characters will be roaming the park and actors will interact with you in between mazes.

Speaking of the mazes, let’s take a look at what you can expect at Scare Kingdom in 2020!

Our Thoughts on Scare Kingdom 2020

Updated – 04/10/2020

What an event.

Seriously, I was absolutely blown away with the level of detail on offer within the mazes and actors who could genuinely act at scare mazes is always a rarity but these guys delivered and fully immersed me within the stories we were being told.

Manormortis is a UK horror gem, so beautifully and meticulously detailed and a joy to walk around and Body Snatchers: Chamber of Horrors also was up there with some of the best theming at the event.

Blitz: The Hunger has this unique navigation throughout the maze and it was claustrophobic and immersive in equal measure and whilst not as strong as the others is still a wonderful experience regardless.

Zozo’s Grind House added the final touches replacing The Hoodening from last year due to COVID restrictions but it set the scene for the insanity of Psychomanteum.

Psychomanteum’s 2020 incarnation named ‘Scared Stiff’ was a non-contact experience but to stand there and witness what we did inside there is a memory I won’t be forgetting anytime soon!

Expect nudity, expect madness, expect to view the twisted underbelly of this sadomasochistic world.

It certainly isn’t a maze for the easily offended.

With a bar / hot food to greet you on the way, out Scare Kingdom is THE place to be this Halloween.

One of a few events currently operating throughout the 2020 season and I can’t figure out why others haven’t decided to open.

Scare Kingdom is proving that social distancing doesn’t dampen the scares/immersion of horror mazes.

Yes, some are toned down / have had things removed but the attraction is so strong that it’s barely noticed in the normal mazes.

Only Psychomanteum’s lack of contact dampens this intense experience but for all the others, they’re still as strong as ever!
