Six Flags today announced the official Six Flags Qiddiya City opening date on the same day as Selim Bassoul will step down as executive chairman.
The company made the announcement today that Six Flags Qiddiya City will be open in the first half of 2026 with the park currently at 98% completion but it was quickly rectified a few hours later as a misquote and the park is indeed still intending to open late 2025!
The park is being built and will be operated by the Saudis under license from Six Flags and Bassoul will continue as consultant for Six Flags through the competition of the Qiddiya City park.
“I’m excited to continue supporting the Company through the completion of Six Flags Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia – a landmark project that will showcase the next generation of entertainment experiences and global innovation,” Bassoul said. “It represents not only a bold step for Six Flags but also a vision of what the future of theme parks can be. I look forward to helping bring that vision to life and watching this remarkable company continue to inspire millions of guests worldwide.”
The level of detail and effort that has gone into the Six Flags Qiddiya Park really is a sight to behold, it’ll be the first Six Flags branded park outside of North America and will be home to some record-breaking rides including Falcons Flight, manufactured by Intamin that will be the world’s longest, tallest and fastest rollercoaster when it opens.
The park will also include the world’s tallest Gyroswing and shot-tower not to mention a whole variety of water rides, dark rides and fun rides for all the family.
We recently uploaded some footage thanks to Six Flags Qiddiya City of Falcons Flight going through a roll-back feature just incase it can’t make it over the giant top-hat that stands at 535 feet tall after dropping off a cliff that stands at 640 feet!
The term EXA coaster (a ride that stands over 600 feet tall) had never been coined before until Intamin put this crazy design into actual, the ride is consistently testing features a dual-loading station and is capable of running six trains simultaneously.
We cannot wait for the Six Flags Qiddiya City opening date and we’ll bring you all the latest news and content updates for this exciting unveiling over the next couple of months.
