Spooky World 2022 Review: IT ROCKED!

Spooky World 2022

After visiting Spooky World two years ago I vowed to never return as it was easily the worst horror attraction that I’d done during that particular Halloween season, fast forward two years and an arm twist later, I revisited and I’m ever so glad I did. Here’s my Spooky World 2022 review.

With the same line-up as before but with the addition of a brand new for 2022 maze named The Institute I was a little hesitant but I remembered that I visited during the pandemic so the actors were miles away from you at all times with little in the way of jump scares.

Not this time, actors were literally crawling on you in the queue lines and all over you in the mazes in one of the most intense character-actor interactions I’ve ever had within any scare attraction

Pinned up against a wall, stroked down a corridor and more the actors were allowed to go wild (quite literally) and dragged me into the maze theme.

Spooky World have very low-budget mazes but some scenes are quite cool to look at, being a sucker for theming I never really feel immersed in a maze unless it looks the part.

Haunted House at Spooky World isn’t a house, it’s a giant barn with cattle pen walls and nothing that really even remotely resembles a house for the majority of the walkthrough but did it matter? Absolutely not. The actors were dragging me into the madness and what it lacked in theming it more than made up for with jump scares and completely bonkers interactions.

The brand new maze The Institute consisted of metal guard rails and strobe lights for the entire maze. Did it matter? Nope. I was chased around by a woman holding poo in her hand, stroked by another patient, sniffed by another and watched my friend get crawled over by another inmate. It was bonkers!

The Haunted Hayride was a dull tractor ride when I last went on it but now it was a fun and rather hilarious ride on a tractor with a group of strangers and we all had a great time!

It’s crazy how an event can change just by letting the actors loose and they were all phenomenal. It’s a hidden gem in the spooky calendar in 2022 and the ever-increasing views on our VLOG just go to show that people are actively searching for it this year and it’s great to see.

I’d love for the park to have more Halloween theming around the place though as there’s absolutely none outside of the mazes and more roaming actors would have been incredible considering just how far they go to terrorise the guests.

Well done Spooky World, well done!
