Thorpe Park Resort Roller Coasters Ranked Best to Worst

Thorpe Park is a park I’ve only visited once. Can you believe that? The first time I ever visited was earlier this year to celebrate Saw the Ride’s 10th birthday.

Whilst I didn’t think the park in terms of atmosphere or even as a whole was even comparable to that of Blackpool Pleasure Beach or Alton Towers the rides were still incredible.

The restrictions of tree-line construction for Alton Towers and the much smaller park size of Blackpool Pleasure Beach gives Thorpe room to build rides without as many restrictions.

It was the general thought of the day walking through as we asked ourselves, why can’t we have this at towers?!

We have compiled a list of our favourite main coasters from best to worst at the park.

All opinion is subjective of course and even if you disagree well, we appreciate the view!

Why not leave a comment if your list is a little different than ours. Without further ado, here’s our ranked list of Thorpe Park Roller Coasters!

1. Stealth

Every other ride in this list has lulls in the ride. Relaxing points where nothing is going on.

It’s not dull, far from but for sheer HOLY SHIT factor Stealth wins every single time.

The launch, the sheer height, the plummet to the ground and even the air-time hill thereafter. There’s not one lull from start to finish. It truly is an incredible experience that claims our top spot.

2. The Swarm

This ride is a thing of beauty. This majestic winged coaster from B&M that takes us through an apocalyptic wasteland is a must-ride. Instantly the ride begins with a steep climb and the track twist at the top was still scary after riding it multiple times in a row!

3. Colossus

My feelings of Colossus in comparison to Saw: The Ride changes weekly. I feel as thou the age of Colossus has made the ride somewhat unbearable but at the same time those 10 inversions are just drool-worthy.

I cannot wait for the modern twist Intamin Colossus replica to appear at Flamingo Land next year. All the fun, without the whiplash. Bring it on!

4. Saw: The Ride

I have a feeling a few will disagree here but Saw: The Ride is an experience. Immersed into the horror world of Saw, walking up the steps into Jigsaw’s lair and sitting down in that eurofighter train.

I love it. The inside track sequence alone is impressive and that’s before you come face to face with the vertical lift. It’s certainly a ride experience that changes where you sit. Some seats are whiplash city others are much smoother.

5. Nemesis: Inferno

The whole Alton Towers Nemesis Vs Nemesis: Inferno coaster enthusiast debate has been subject of many laughs with us here. We can’t even wrap our heads around how Inferno can even be compared in the same league as the powerhouse that is Nemesis.

I feel anyone who sticks up for Inferno is using a North Vs South of England location favouritism approach rather than actually comparing the two coasters.

They’re not comparable. Inferno is a good coaster but it feels so tame and dull at times compared to his batshit crazy brother at Alton Towers.

5. Walking Dead: The Ride

Whilst using IP’s to their full advantage is a positive trait of Thorpe Park they really screwed up with this one. Not only is Walking Dead: The Ride a missed opportunity in so many ways.

The ride itself is incredibly dull and bland. Naturally I only visited the park for the first time this year so I can’t compare it to what the ride was like before the re-theming.

But this was truly, truly awful. It reminds me of the recent seasons of the Walking Dead before The Whisperers came in and spiced things up again.
