Universal Studios Great Britain Set for Government Approval

Universal UK

In a recent article discussing the government’s preparations to approve numerous delayed projects posted on Bloomberg, we seemingly have a greenlight approval ready to be announced for the proposed Universal Studios Great Britain to be constructed in Bedford.

Other delayed plans to be greenlit in this upcoming announcement include expansions to three London airports including a third runway at Heathrow, bringing a second strip at Gatwick into full-time use and a capacity increase at Luton Airport.

Additional plans that are said to be revisited before the end of the month include the lower Thames Crossing, a road tunnel beneath London’s Thames River, and a Universal Studios theme park north of the capital.

Rachel Reeves has been in constant communication with the Bedford Member of Parliament Mohammad Yasin about the project and recent government discussions about the project were said to be ‘progressing’ as we’re now coming to the end of the agreed period of quiet between all parties involved.

This growth speech to be delivered by Reeves is said to be taking place before the end of the month and this may be the first time in my entire existence on this planet that I’ll be eagerly awaiting a government speech just incase the plans are revealed.

Universal themselves may also want to announce the opening of the park here in the UK so the growth speech may not be the place where it is officially announced but time will tell despite ongoing talks being described as positive.

The Universal Studios UK project will cost £10 Billion as Universal has purchased a 476-acre plot of land in Bedford along with purchasing numerous properties in the area.

Universal Studios Great Britain (or an alternative name yet to be announced) will consist of the main theme park, a 500-bedroom hotel, car parking facilities and a Universal Citywalk with an option for theme park expansion in the future.

This significant investment in the UK will drive thousands of jobs and economic benefits in addition to the already approved rail links that are being constructed as we speak.

A park of Universal’s stature in this country is an absolute game-changer for all involved and could change the very fabric of the UK theme park industry which is in desperate need of rejuvenation and future-forward ideas.

We’ll be sure to update this site the second the park is officially greenlit and will have some exciting content planned for our YouTube page around its official announcement.
