The Financial Times reports that UK ministers are now close to agreeing terms with Comcast about investment securement (billions of pounds) from Comcast for the new theme park here in the UK.
Ministers are closing in on a deal that will see a UK Universal Studios coming to Bedford.
A site perimeter has already been set up on the designated site and work looks to be slowly underway in preparation for the announcement.
Universal’s proposed theme park was confirmed in December 2023 after purchasing a 476-acre parcel of land in Bedfordshire.
The site could generate nearly £50 billion for the economy during construction and the first 20 years of operation.
A deal for the theme park could be announced as early next week as everything is now in its final stages.
Known as ‘Project Nectarine’ in the UK government the theme park would showcase Universal’s world-class entertainment services, live shows and themed experiences in the UK with a theme park unlike anything the country has seen before.
Merlin Entertainments has the UK monopoly on theme parks but things will very quickly change when Universal rolls into town as their product offering is leaps and bounds above the competition.
Universal Studios UK will be a world-class theme park with room for expansion, an on-site hotel, a citywalk and parking complex and more!
