Valhalla at Blackpool Pleasure Beach Will Not Be Operating in 2020

Valhalla Ride 2020 News

So the news has finally arrived today and it’s the news we were all expected. Valhalla at Blackpool Pleasure Beach will remain standing but not operating for the 2020 season.

Back in November Managing Director Amanda Thompson said the ride would not be torn down amidst rumours of its demolition. She did state however that the ride needs to be made sustainable and so the official announcement came today.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach released a statement that said:

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is proud to announce that the ride Valhalla is being given a sprinkling of magic Christmas dust and will experience a reimagining during the 2020 season with the ride reopening in 2021, in time for Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s 125th anniversary year.

Whilst this is wonderful news for the future of the ride it’ll be a shame not to be jumping on it next year. It’s such a staple ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and it will be sorely missed by all next year. Nothing quite beats a ride on Valhalla to cool down on a rare sunny British day.

It will be interesting to see what developments take place behind the scenes on the ride throughout 2020. A reimagining can only be a good thing for the future of the rid. It’s the world’s best water ride (in my eyes) already. An enhancement of the ride will only further confirm it’s worlds best status.

In more optimistic news. If the ride is being refurbished it means more ride parts and theming may become available in the Pleasure Beach store for us to own!
