Blackpool Pleasure Beach has announced on April 1st that a virtual ICON roller coaster experience would be on its way. An experience that you can take part in without even leaving your house!
Experience the thrills and spills of this incredible coaster with a brand new virtual experience launching Saturday 4th April.
What Is the Virtual ICON Experience from Blackpool Pleasure Beach?
Riders will reach dizzying new heights on ICON, the park’s newest and fastest rollercoaster, simply by tuning into its social pages.
You will be invited to post your own reactions and connect with other Blackpool Pleasure Beach fans.
The park will be releasing exclusive clips and footage of its most popular rides every Saturday.
A whole host of activities will be posted from the park including keep fit videos from Team Nick to various arts and craft creations.

We understand that Theme Parks are an escape for people and rollercoasters are an amazing, feel-good journey.
During these times, if we can bring some of that joy home for people, that would just be wonderful
Once the experience has aired the virtual experience will be available across the park’s social media pages. All content will be free and available and all activities will be available on the social media pages throughout the week to keep people busy at home.
I’m absolutely loving this idea! I just hope the exclusive content gives us some never before seen access to one of the UK’s best coasters.
It will be interesting to see what the virtual experience could be. I’d assume it would just be a regular POV.
It could even be a 360-degree experience or similar but who knows I’m just guessing!

Fast forward a few days and the virtual experience is finally here. Released exactly at 4 pm on April 4th is this POV from the park.
Not the 360-degree experience I was hoping for but still a great POV.
It’ll be interesting to see what exclusive behind the scenes clips are released in the days and weeks to come.
