The famous US burger chain is coming to Blackpool as a new restaurant on the Promenade will see the old Viva Vegas Diner turned into a Wendy’s!
Located close to the tower this burger chain is famous for its quality ingredients and frosty desserts and it’s great that Blackpool is getting one located in such a prime position on the Promenade.
Famous for its square beef patties Wendy’s will be operated by The Papas Group who already run Papas Fish and Chips next door (across Church Street).
This location will mark the second Wendy’s in Lancashire set to open as the first Wendy’s has been earmarked for Friargate in Preston but an opening date has yet to be confirmed with the website simply saying ‘Coming Soon’ at the time of writing this article.
No opening date has been set for the Blackpool location either but recruitment has started with various job adverts posted online.
Wendy’s first ever restaurant was opened in Columbus, Ohio and the brand quickly became very popular indeed.
Whilst Wendy’s operated in the UK from 1980 to 1986 and then again in 1992 to 2000 they returned to the UK in 2019 and the franchise has plans to expand to 400 locations across the UK.
Still, to this day I haven’t tried a Wendy’s in the UK or in the States and it’s about time I did!
Wendy’s Blackpool here I come!
