The 24th edition of Winter Efteling is slowly coming to an end, and the delights of Efteling return on 5th March 2023.
What a beautiful Winter Efteling event the park had this year, we paid a visit to the park for the first-ever time to experience this wonderfully festive event.

The all-year-round fairytale-themed park, Efteling, located in the south of Holland, has much to look forward to, as new large-scale attraction Danse Macabre and Efteling Grand Hotel both continue construction. Visitors to the park this year can have a sneak peek of what’s to come for both epic developments for the park, as Danse Macabre brings the first attraction of its kind in the world.
Efteling is an all-year-round destination perfect for individuals, couples and families looking for a fun-filled break where various attractions, high-thrill roller coasters and shows mean there are various activities that suit all interests and ages.
This spring and summer, kids and adults will enjoy meeting and reconnecting with their favourite story characters such as Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella and many more in the Fairytale Forest. Adrenaline seekers will be excited to go on rides such as Baron 1898 which freefalls 37.5m into a mineshaft and reaches a top speed of more than 90 kilometres per hour, a steel roller coaster with double loop Python. And a double-track wooden racer rollercoaster Joris and the Dragon.
Indoor rides such as Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy will whisk families away to different lands through mystical scenes and storytelling. Additionally, there are plenty more gentle attractions like Sirocco, Archipel, Steam Train that takes visitors around the park in a slower and more gentle pace.
During the evenings, visitors can enjoy Aquanura – a show where 200 fountains, fire and light are choreographed to Efteling melodies – or head to the Efteling Theatre for CARO – Efteling’s visually spectacular show, suitable for the whole family, that combines humour, dance, music and acrobatics to represent different aspects of life.
Guests can choose from Efteling’s multitude of nearby accommodation options, from self-catering treehouses at Loonsche Land Holiday Village to the fairytale-themed Efteling Hotel. Accommodation begins at 339 EUR (£300) based on a family of four in a two-bedroom self-catered accommodation, inclusive of 2x days of park tickets.
