It’s not Christmas in Stoke on Trent unless Winter Wonderland have set up shop in Hanley town centre and the news was announced today as this fun festive space is back in 2024.
After a few hurdles to get the event back in Stoke last year, it’s great to hear that they’re having back-to-back years. They bring a real festive magic to the local area with an array of rides, an ice rink, wooden chalets and an arcade along with food and drink stalls.
Entry to the event is free of charge with a pay-as-you-go token system with ultimate riding and ice skating wristbands available.
A team arrived on site this week to start construction and it’s usually a 2 week turnaround whenever they arrive which is very impressive indeed.
Winter Wonderland Stoke on Trent is set to open on Birch Terrace car park in Hanley on November 22, it ends of January 5th.
It’s so good to see it back after a setback involving Stoke-On-Trent City Council controversially stopped it from operating as the car park was due to be redeveloped. That scheme has since vanished and as a result, Winter Wonderland Stoke returns to much joy from residents.
A Stoke-on-Trent City Council spokesperson told Stoke on Trent Live:
“We can confirm that the Winter Wonderland attraction is returning to the city. The attraction has become a popular event on the festive calendar. It appeals to visitors of all ages and attracts many families to the city centre.”
