The biggest single investment in Blackpool for more than a century we take a look at the Blackpool Central development.
The development will bring brand new visitor attractions to the famous Golden Mile.
With a full range of indoor attractions including a multimedia exhibition, a flying theatre, a virtual reality experience, indoor rides and more this development is one exciting prospect indeed.
Hotels, restaurants, food market, event square, residential apartments and multi-storey parking are also planned for the development and all of this will be within a stones throw from the Blackpool Tower and Coral Island.
It is estimated that the development will attract 600,000 additional visitors within a year and it will also create 1,000 new jobs.
17 acres in size the proposed themed is ‘Chariots of the Gods’ – a series of novels written by Eric Von Däniken in the 1960s and 1970s, based upon unsolved mysteries of the past.
Expect to see such things as the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico, ancient cave drawings, the monuments of Easter Island and alien visitors.
